Back in the side after being rested at the weekend, some of his passing play during the first half was particularly sloppy. He got forward well in the second half but was beaten easily on several occasions. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD

Hull did a very good job on nullifying the Rovers skipper, particularly in the first half when he was pushed very deep and cut off from the players he would typically be looking to bring into the game. It was a very quiet night for him. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD

The loanee struggled to make an impression in the space afforded by the attention shown to Whiteman. His passing lacked accuracy at times which saw promising moves break down too easily. Subbed off after an hour. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD

He got on the ball a few times and surged forward but struggled to find ways through to make it count. He was caught on the ball a few times too and was a little sloppy in his short passes to team mates. He produced a fine ball for Rovers’ goal but was disappointing overall. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
