Revealed: The six-figure cash sum Doncaster Rovers have earned in FA Cup despite loss to West Ham

The FA Cup is over for Doncaster Rovers until next season after they were defeated by West Ham on Saturday.

But Rovers’ run to the fourth round will be rewarded with a financial boost – courtesy of the FA Cup’s prize fund.

Although the FA confirmed the prize money fund would be reduced this season following the pandemic, winners in each round are able to earn cash.

Rovers pocketed £22,629 for their first round win against FC United of Manchester and £34,000 in the next round after a victory over Carlisle United.

Donny pocketed £82,000 after their win over Blackburn Rovers in the third round.

That’s a total £138,692 during their run this year, with no money on offer to losers of fourth round ties.
