Doncaster Rovers know qualification is out of their hands in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy as they prepare for their final group game.

Rovers might still need other results to go their way if they beat Burton Albion at the Eco-Power Stadium tonight (7pm kick-off).

Three points would help their chances – they could even lose and still qualify – but goal difference may decide who progresses.

Should already-eliminated Everton Under-21s avoid defeat against Mansfield, a win would see Doncaster qualify from Group H tonight.

LIVE: Doncaster Rovers v Burton Albion

Chance for Goodman!

He intercepts the ball and takes it past Blackman before shooting towards goal with Burton’s defence scrambling. The young striker can’t get his effort on target though and it hits the stanchion.

That was another good chance.

As for young Goodman, he just needs that first one to go in.

Rovers through as it stands

Mansfield are currently drawing with Everton’s Under-21s at half time, meaning Doncaster will progress tonight if things stay as they are.

Remember they are 15 minutes ahead of us in that game.

Luke Molyneux almost adds his name to the scoresheet but his effort after cutting inside is blocked for a corner.

Mo Faal puts the hosts in front with a lovely low finish past Jamal Blackman for his sixth of the season. Chance came out of nothing but George Broadbent picked Faal out with a nice pass.

Doncaster struggling to gain control

Lots of balls up in the air at present with Rovers struggling with Burton’s press. Not much quality from the hosts in the opening stages but they are keeping their opponents at arms length.

Ciaran Gilligan sees yellow for a late tackle on Owen Bailey.

They’ve had the better of it in the opening ten minutes without forcing a real opening. Rekeem Harper has just fired over following a corner. Shot was always rising.

Better late than never. Looks pretty sparse in the East Stand.

Change to the starting XI for Doncaster

Louis Jones comes in for Ian Lawlor, who has been injured in the warm-up. Ben Bottomley now on the bench.
