Doncaster Rovers will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Sutton United at the Eco-Power Stadium.

Rovers have lost their last two matches, having won four out of five before then to kick-start their season.

Today’s opponents have also had a slow start the campaign with 11 defeats from their first 15 games.

But they won 4-0 last weekend and proved more than a handful for Doncaster in their two meetings last term.

Doncaster Rovers v Sutton United

First goal could be key today given the league position of both teams. Sutton had edged it inside the opening 15 minutes but that’s a big breakthrough for Doncaster. The visitors are strong, physical and organised. You wouldn’t have wanted it to go the other way. Could have been a hard task breaking them down.

Almost a superb goal from Luke Molyneux, who curls just wide after great hold-up play from Joe Ironside to set up the chance.

Fine save from Jones

Harry Smith latches onto a long ball and almost converts but Jones tips his close-range effort away. Chance seemed to come out of nowhere.

Yellow for Christian N’Guessan for a foul on Ben Close.

Tommy Rowe fires home from inside the area after a great pass from Tom Nixon to pick him out but the linesman had already flagged for offside.

Another Sutton booking

Joe Kizzi this time for a foul on Mo Faal.

They’ve been getting rarer but Aiden O'Brien hooks the ball just wide.

A good half for Rovers, who lead through Joe Ironside’s penalty. They have edged it since the goal but Sutton still remain a threat and aren’t going down without a fight here. Could be an interesting 45 ahead.

No changes for either side.
