Doncaster Rovers have a chance to bounce back quickly from Saturday’s defeat to Barrow when they host Crawley Town tonight.

But Rovers will have to stop one of League Two’s most in-form sides if they are to avoid back-to-back losses.

Crawley have won their last four matches and only goal difference is keeping them off top spot.

Scott Lindsey’s Red Devils have scored at least two goals in their last five games, underlining the scale of the task ahead for Grant McCann’s men.

Doncaster Rovers v Crawley Town

Brilliant run from Molyneux

He wins back the ball inside his own half and carries it to the edge of the box where his shot is charged down for a corner, which the Crawley keeper collects.

They’re knocking it about nicely in the opening stages and Harry Forster sends a low cross into the box for Klaidi Lolos but he shoots over the bar.

Crawley get us started with Rovers kicking towards the away end in the first half.

Crawley have scored at least three goals in every one of their last six games. Now that’s a scary stat.

Meanwhile, Rovers have kept just one clean sheet in ten league games.

Two changes for Doncaster Rovers

Harrison Biggins and Louie Marsh drop out of the starting XI to be replaced by Tommy Rowe and Mo Faal.

Biggins misses out altogether, presumably due to injury. Marsh is on the bench.

Early Doncaster team news

Grant McCann confirmed in an in-house interview yesterday at least one player who started Saturday’s match at Barrow would be unavailable tonight.

He had 14 out at the weekend and, as of Saturday, wasn’t expecting anyone back tonight.

Can Rovers bounce back?

Grant McCann was bitterly disappointed with Saturday’s setback at Barrow after his side had put a run of three straight wins together.

In truth, Doncaster never looked at their best, despite scoring two goals against the division’s tightest defence, and would have been lucky to have got something from the game.

They face another tough task tonight in the middle of run of three tricky tests against good opposition, with Stockport to come on Saturday. Crawley have risen to second in the table after four straight wins and score plenty of goals.

They are far from unbeatable, however, and lost 6-0 just last month. That sparked a six-game unbeaten run which has taken them within touching distance of the League Two summit - just months after they finished last term in 22nd place.

This will be another test of Rovers’ credentials for a potential push at promotion this season, which seems a long way off right now...
