Goals from Joe Ward and Sammie Szmodics had the home side firmly in the driving seat by the midway point in the first half.

But Fejiri Okenabirhie halved the deficit after 38 minutes with a smart finish from distance.

Substitute Taylor Richards then tapped home an equaliser just before the hour mark and both teams went close to finding a winner during a

tempestuous second half.

A ball is floated into the box where Jason Lokilo produces a brilliant knockdown for Okenabirhie who smashes a shot from 20 yards first time, sending the ball bulleting into the bottom corner.

Great goal.

Rovers haven’t laid a glove on Peterborough but that was a great effort.

Possession conceded 30 yards from goal, the ball fed into the area to Jack Taylor who cuts back across to Szmodics. He pushed it on goal first time and the Rovers defence were caught off balance as they tried to block it.

Josh Sims lost the ball in the middle of the park and Peterborough surged forward. Jonson Clarke-Harris looked set to shoot on goal but pulled a ball out wide to Joe Ward who fires first time put hits the pole holding up the net. Should have done better, thankfully didn’t.

Siriki Dembele left Joe Wright in his wake and surged along the byline before cutting back Jonson Clarke-Harris who struck first time, only for Anderson to intervene.
