Doncaster Rovers must get their act together sharpish if they are to mount a play-off push with time running out.

Rovers’ hopes of a top-seven finish are hanging by a thread after three wins from four left them nine points off the play-offs heading into today’s match at home to AFC Wimbledon.

The Dons have no win in seven and have lost their last three, but Tuesday’s victors over Doncaster, Harrogate Town, came to the Eco-Power Stadium on a similar run.

Nice vision from Charlie Seaman

He pokes the ball forward trying to find the run of George Miller but Wimbledon keeper Nik Tzanev comes off his line and clears with his head.

Good take from Mitchell

He gets off his line quick to claim a cross ahead of Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi.

Tommy Rowe is playing at LCB with Charlie Seaman at left wing-back. Luke Molyneux looks like he’s playing just off George Miller, rather than out wide.

Tom Anderson misses out altogether, Caolan Lavery and Kyle Hurst drop to the bench.

Doncaster Rovers team news

There could be some changes today following a below-par display on Tuesday. Some enforced, others down to rotation.

Are the play-offs still realistic?

Plenty of fans seem to have already made their minds up on that question.

Based on the calculations below, it looks like a tall order.

How big could today be?

It’s no exaggeration to say today could be make or break for Doncaster’s season. Time is fast running out for them to mount a play-off challenge and their chances have been significantly weakened by three defeats in their last four games.

They would need to better any run of results they’ve previously strung together this term to break into the top seven and there would also be little room for error. But first they have to start scoring goals! It’s not been four games since their last goal - and the player who scored it is injured.

Today’s opponents have no win in their last seven and have lost their last three. Wimbledon come to the Eco-Power Stadium as a wounded animal but while Doncaster have proven they match the division’s best sides they have also given plenty of out-of-form ones a helping hand this term.
