Grant McCann’s new-look Doncaster Rovers take on Harrogate Town as the new League Two season gets under way this afternoon.

Plenty of McCann’s 10 summer signings are expected to make their debut when Rovers welcome their Yorkshire neighbours to the Eco-Power Stadium.

Doncaster’s popular former chairman John Ryan will also be in attendance at the match after a ten-year absence.

Ryan has not attended a Rovers fixture since he stepped down as chairman after 15 years in 2013.

He will be in the Black Bank today helping drum up the atmosphere among expectant home supporters.

Doncaster Rovers v Harrogate Town

Big tackle from Jack Senior

Great defending to cut out Sam Folarin’s cross with a big sliding challenge.

Big chance for Doncaster

Twenty minutes gone and Luke Molyneux intercepts a poor headed clearance from Rod McDonald and finds himself one-on-one. He can’t get enough direction on his effort though and it drifts wide.

A little bit of a lull

Not much happening right now, hence the lack of updates. Stadium has also gone a bit quiet. Harrogate look OK and are holding their own. Rovers have yet to get going in truth.

Good clearance from Richard Wood

Corner Harrogate. Wood got on the end of a cross before one of their attackers.

Another good save from Lawlor

He beats away Dean Cornelius’ strike from inside the box after Harrogate stole the ball back following a corner which was headed clear.

Chance for Doncaster

Great run and cross from Jack Senior, who has been a great outlet on the left and linked up with Jon Taylor well. His cross into the path of Joe Ironside is just cut out, however.

Stoppage for a head injury

Dean Cornelius is the man down. Could be a fairly lengthy delay to the first half.

You might say Harrogate have shaded that. Doncaster have applied very little pressure to their goal while the visitors have twice drawn smart stops from Ian Lawlor.

Luke Molyneux went closest for the home side but couldn’t get his effort on target when one-on-one.

Still all to play for in the second half.

No changes for either side.
