The on loan Arsenal striker returned to his parent club after suffering a thigh injury during the last international break while on duty with England U20s.

It has seen the 19-year-old miss Rovers’ last eight matches in all competitions, leaving them with Fejiri Okenabirhie as the only recognised striker available.

John-Jules is not expected to be available for selection this weekend as Rovers host Sunderland as boss Darren Moore will exercise caution on his recovery and seek to build him back up to match fitness.

Fellow loanee Rayhaan Tulloch continues to receive treatment with his parent club West Bromwich Albion as he recovers from a hamstring issue which has kept him out for the last two months.

Rovers are expected to welcome back Jon Taylor this weekend after the winger sat out the last two matches due to a strain.
