Latest on contract talks as Doncaster Rovers as initial deadline passes

At least three players have this week verbally agreed new contacts with Doncaster Rovers, the Free Press understands.

Advanced talks have taken place with half a dozen players who are set to reach the end of their contracts in the summer.

There is confidence within the club that new deals will be signed by the six in the coming weeks, with at least three so far having committed their futures so far.

Paperwork on the contracts is set to be completed next week with official confirmation to follow. Others are expected to follow soon after.

Those who have held successful talks so far are understood to be a mix of first team regulars and young talent.

Rovers set a deadline for Friday for indication from those who had been offered new deals over whether they would be accepting terms.

At least one player has opted to delay talks until after the end of the season.
