The centre half suffered a calf strain in the win at Northampton Town when he played as a right back, with the injury keeping him out of action at the weekend.

"After the three games in six days, he's just picked up a little strain on his calf," boss Darren Moore said.

"From the centre back position to the full back position, it's different and there's more marauding up and down.

"He came off after the game and didn't think much of it.

"We sent him for a scan and the results have revealed that he's got a bit of a strain.

"He's missed this game and he'll be touch and go for Tuesday.

"We'll have a look at him on Tuesday and see how he is. But we hope he'll only maybe miss that one and it'll just be a couple of games.

"He has said to me that he wants to have a look on Tuesday so we'll take a look at him then."

Andy Butler made his first league start of the season for the club last weekend and continued at centre half in Wright's absence.

"It's timely that Andy came in last week and timely that he's had a week of training for the type of game it was," Moore said.

"I thought he was excellent again and he's been so consistent. His talking and marshalling of the troops and being in the right place at the right time - I thought he did well."

The 2-1 triumph over Gillingham saw the return of Jon Taylor off the bench after a month on the sidelines.

"It's nice to have Jon back and give him 20 minutes at the end," Moore said.

"I just thought with the way the game was going that it would be right for him to spring us out of defence and onto the attack.

"It's great to have him back. He's a great character to have around.

"There's been good work with him to get him back."
