The 21-year-old will reach the end of his contract with Crystal Palace in the summer.

And having had very few senior opportunities with the Eagles, particularly recently, it appears likely the Belgian winger will be seeking a new employer ahead of next season.

Lokilo has made a good impression quickly since his deadline day loan move from Selhurst Park and made his senior debut off the bench in last weekend’s win over Wycombe Wanderers.

And he insists, despite the uncertainty over his future, his only focus is performing well for Rovers.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen at the end of the season,” he told the Free Press. “We’ll see.

“It’s not really my job to discuss what is going to happen.

“I’m here at Doncaster until the end of the season and after that we will see what is going to happen.

“I like it here, and we’ll see what happens.”

Lokilo’s time at Palace - which began in 2015 with a switch from Anderlecht’s academy - has been a frustrating experience when it has come to breaking into senior football.

He looked to be making headway after impressing Frank de Boer and was handed his solitary outing for Palace in the League Cup in August 2017.

That is not something he is keen to dwell on as he focuses on the here and now.

“It’s been hard,” he said. “But I’m still only 21.

“I forget what has happened here in the past. What has happened at Doncaster is a different story.

“I just hope to carry on playing first team football, that is where I want to be.

“Now I’m here at Doncaster, I just want to help the team and play games.

“I just hope to play games and help the team.

“Hopefully we can get into the play-offs and get a promotion.”
