Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Moore insists he is fully behind the EFL’s determination to complete the 2019/20 season, which is currently on hold.

Competitive action is currently suspended until April 30 at the earliest due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The EFL have held the stance from the initial suspension that the campaign should be completed and have entered into an agreement with other leagues across Europe to look to finish the season by the end of June.

And Moore believes that is the correct course of action.

“I’m in full support of that,” he said. It’s the right thing to do.

“There’s been so much hanging around it but the EFL have showed it and said they want to finish off the season because of where it’s at.

“As we know, there’s still a lot of football to be played.

“How it is finished, we’ll wait and see.

“There’s a lot of speculation and I can understand why people are speculating.

“But we can only deal with the facts and the EFL have come forward to let us know they are looking to see out the season - should the situation allow us to.

“But that is their intention and that is great for everyone to hear.

“As the weeks and days go by, we’ve got to be ready for the situation to change and be adaptable.

“That is why it’s important for us to keep going, keep mentally active and physically fresh in case things do change, so we’re ready.

“What we should all do, is being ready.”
