Here is how we rated Rovers’ individual performances at Ewood Park.
5. Cameron John 6
Did not have a great deal of opportunity to push forward on his redebut but the defensive side of his game was always going to be more important against Championship opposition. He struggled to keep track of Harry Chapman in the first half but got his foot in when it counted. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
6. Taylor Richards 6
A mixed bag of a debut for the Brighton loanee. He was more than a little tentative in the first half as the weight of playing in a more defensive role than he is usually accustomed to seemed to be heavy upon in. But he was rejuvenated after the break and showed some wonderful passing from the middle of the park. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
7. Madger Gomes 7
In the absence of Ben Whiteman, a lot of responsibility fell on Gomes’ shoulders in the middle of the park. While he struggled for presence in the first half, he did show decent composure on the ball which only increased after the break. And then there was his superb strike to put Rovers in front. 8. Jon Taylor 6
He struggled to get into the game until the later stages of the first half but was Rovers’ best ball carrier while on the pitch. His end product was disappointing on a couple of occasions. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
