Gary McSheffrey’s side will be hoping to cash in on their next two fixtures against the division’s basement boys and continue their resurgence up the table following three straight defeats in September.

They beat Crawley Town 4-1 last time out.

This afternoon’s opponents are undergoing a revival of their own under new boss Jim Bentley, however, having also won their last two matches.

An interesting subplot

Wouldn’t it be typical if he played a big part in the outcome of today’s match?

Cameron John could also be involved for Rochdale. He was released by Donny at the end of last season.

As one fan says, if it ain’t broken.

We might also see Reo Griffiths make his first appearance of the season from the bench this afternoon. Excited to see Ben Close in action once more after he impressed against Lincoln and Crawley last week.

Elsewhere, Lee Tomlin has tagged himself at a golf club in St Andrews, Scotland this morning. Not sure what’s behind that - there were some players described as ‘touch and go’ earlier this week - but we’ll get the official word from the manager after the match.

Welcome to Rochdale

More than 800 Donny fans are expected to make the trip to Lancashire this afternoon - another sold-out away ened - to see their side take on the division’s basement boys.

That tag might be a little harsh on Rochdale, however, who like Doncaster are also looking for their third consecutive win. Things are on the up under new boss Jim Bentley, it would seem.

Rovers’ next opponents, 23rd-placed Hartlepool, also fought from two goals down to draw 2-2 away to Mansfield last night. The slow-starters are beginning to improve following a change in management, but so too are Doncaster after their poor run of form in September.

Three points could see Rovers move back into the play-off spots today. A win for Rochdale could move them out of the relegation zone.
