Here, we take a look at some of the social media reaction to the defeat.

@djoftherovers: Need to stop playing people put of position, 4cbs across back 4 and 2 full backs in mid. We was to nice today, shaking their hands after tackling them hoping to get a shirt after.. sod that get stuck in n play our way, way too much respect

@philskyross1962: West Ham have a stunning squad and we are very thin on the ground. No Whiteman or Sims was a major problem and to end up without any injuries was a blessing. It was a free hit so I'm not that bothered. A long-ball team would probably have done better tbh.

@SRLMAXI: We gifted them an early goal which set the tone of the game. Nowhere near at our best which made West Ham look better than they were. We move on

@glosterred: We’ve had better days at the office. Beaten by a very good Premiership team. Onwards and upwards and on to Tuesday night.

@mattarnold13: To be fair with the lack of depth in the squad it was going to be uphill, however we gave them to much respect there were no hard challenges going in, it was like we were scared of hurting them so they just skipped by, 1 up top was never in a million years going to work

@nigelwalkden: What I expected really remember the gulf is massive

@Cross31Paul: Outclassed from minute one. To be fair I expected it but our passing game never got started and it showed today how we struggled with the gulf in class. Maybe a little bit of experience in the window would be what’s needed. On the plus heads never went down.

@ByrneNL: Having to have Halliday and James at centre midfield isn't ideal. They lose a lot of qualities they bring to full back. Add to that we lose our best two full backs...makes us a weaker side. Speaking of weak Lokilo isn't up to it. Lack of effort from him.
