Former Doncaster Rovers Belles captain Leandra Little announces retirement

Former Doncaster Rovers Belles captain Leandra Little has announced her retirement from playing.

The 36-year-old will continue to work within the game in football education roles at Liverpool Women’s academy and the Football Association.

Little spent six years at Belles, winning promotion to the Super League in 2015 and the FAWSL2 title in 2018, before joining Liverpool and then Sheffield United.

Her sporting career started in basketball where she represented England as a teenager before switching to football and joining Lincoln City in 2007.

“She’s a leader, not only is she a good player, she’s a top person and good people make winning teams,” said former Belles boss Neil Redfearn
