Football rumours: Rojo saves Manchester United career after Van Gaal talks, Berahino claims goal had shades of Zidane

The Daily Star is reporting today that defender Marcus Rojo has saved his Manchester United career, after talks with boss Louis Van Gaal.

The Argentine looked set to leave Old Trafford in the summer, after missing a pre-season tour through passport issues and then being offered to Monaco when United signed Anthony Martial.

But the Daily Star believe hard work in training and discussions with the manager, alongside Luke Shaw’s long term injury, will mean a second chance for Rojo.

Another young star in the news today is Saido Berahino, who has likened his touch for West Brom’s winner against Aston Villa to something a legend in the sport might have done.

The Express reports that the striker has told team-mates there were shades of French hero Zinedine Zidane about his goal.

The Time say that PSG will make a world record offer of £109.2million for Christian Ronaldo, and will pay him more than £15m after tax.

Mike Williamson has turned down a loan move from Newcastle to Preston, say the Evening Chronicle.

And the Daily Star believe Manchester United are keeping an eye on Heerenveen centre-half Jerry St Juste.
