For a bit of fun, we simulated the season until its conclusion - Donny just missed out on promotion - and took a peep at their summer transfer activity. Click and scroll through the gallery to see their predicted signings for the 2020/21 campaign.
1. Kieran Agard - Free transfer - MK Dons
He may have torn up League Two back in 2018/19, but he's still struggling to get to grips with League One. In March 2020, he's scored just one goal for Donny all season. (Photo by Alex Davidson/Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: Alex Davidson
2. Mark Ellis - Free transfer - Tranmere Rovers
A rather left field one this, given that he barely played in the 2019/20 season. Still, the ex-Carlisle United centre-back is proving backup option for the time being. (Photo credit: PAUL ELLIS/AFP via Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: PAUL ELLIS
3. Nnamdi Ofoborh - Bournemouth - Loan
Not a bit of business, this, even if it is another midfielder on the books! His work rate and stamina are exceptional, and he's played a decent portion of the 2020/21 so far. (Photo by David Ramos/Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: David Ramos
4. Magnus Norman - Free transfer - Fulham
With star loanee Seny Dieng heading back to QPR, Donny snapped up Norman on a bargain free transfer. He was overlooked by the Cottagers for years, but is now impressing for Rovers. (Photo credit: KIRILL KUDRYAVTSEV/AFP via Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: AFP Contributor
