With three draws and three defeats from their opening six matches, Doncaster Rovers find themselves bottom of the League One table after a disappointing start to their second season back in the third-tier.
It’s a stark contrast to the start Grant McCann’s men made last season when they were riding high in fifth position after recording a big derby day victory over Rotherham United.
However, as McCann will be quick to point out - nothing is ever won or lost in August and September and there’s still plenty of time for Rovers to climb the table and try and build on last season’s 14th place finish.
Rovers will feel a tad unlucky not to have more points on the board, and that statement is perhaps best epitomised by this new league table from Mark O’Haire on X which looks at how the standings would look based on expected points.
