Former Doncaster Rovers defender confirmed as caretaker manager of Bromley as Andy Woodman departs
League One strugglers Bromley have sacked Andy Woodman
Bromley have sacked Andy Woodman after a slow start to the campaign which saw the side pick up eight points from their opening 10 matches.
Woodman took charge of Bromley in March 2021 and in his second full season in charge led the London-based side to the Football League for the first time in their history defeating Solihull Moor on penalties in the play-off final.
The former Newcastle United goalkeeping coach, who’s only prior experience of management had been with Whitehawk during a short spell in 2017, quickly established the club in the Football League securing an 11th place finish before guiding The Ravens to an unexpected title triumph following in the footsteps of Doncaster Rovers, who had won the division a year earlier.
Bromley, who had never previously played League One football before this season, have won just two of their 10 league games this season and conceded an EFL-high 25 goals, with the most recent coming in a 4-0 defeat to Leicester City.

The capital club have announced that former Doncaster Rovers defender Byron Webster will be taking charge on an interim basis whilst the club appoint a permanent replacement.
Webster started out at York City in 2004 and joined Doncaster Rovers five years later following a spell in Czechia with the now dissolved FK Baník Most 1909.
He spent two seasons at the Keepmoat Stadium, making just 14 appearances in two seasons before going on to play for sides such as Yeovil, Millwall, Scunthorpe United and Carlisle before finishing his career at Bromley.
Bromley are scheduled to travel to Doncaster on Saturday 12 December, where they will likely have a new face in the dugout.
