Doncaster Rovers: John Marquis won't ease up despite having a hamstring that's 'hanging off'
The Doncaster Rovers striker’s match-winning brace at MK Dons at the weekend certainly showed that, coming after a week in which he sat out full training due to the issue his manager so delicately described.
With a run of six games in 19 days starting on Tuesday night against relegated Bury, each player will have to prove they are in good enough condition to perform.

“I want to play every game between now and the end of the season,” he told The Star. “I want to play every minute.
“It’s down to the manager with what he does and how he manages the players.
“I’ve got six games left and I want to leave everything out there in every one and see where we are after that.

“I felt like I wanted to give it a go so I did work with the physio on Thursday and came through that.
“I didn’t feel it during the game.
“I needed the rest in the week. I came back, felt fresh and I think it showed on Saturday.”
Marquis – who netted his 13th and 14th goals of the season against MK Dons – admits he will need to show a good deal of honesty over his injury situation with boss Darren Ferguson.

He said: “The manager is in a position where he’s got a lot of players who are fit. A lot of options.
“It wouldn’t be fair on myself on my team mates if I was going out there 30 per cent fit and not able to give my a true performance of myself.
“I’m not going to play if I feel like I’m very fatigued or I have an injury, just to play.

Marquis seems almost certain to start against Bury though Darren Ferguson says he will make changes to his side in a bid to keep them fresh.
