More than 11,000 supporters were at the Club Doncaster Sports Village on Saturday to watch Grant McCann’s men produce their best display of the season so far in a much-needed 2-0 victory over local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
Club captain Owen Bailey was the difference-maker for the Doncaster Rovers. The talismanic midfielder, who was without a goal since August, struck twice inside the first 16 minutes to leave Rovers fans in dreamland, in an afternoon where the supporters were in fine voice and creating a bouncing atmosphere.
It was Doncaster Rovers’ first win over the Owls in over a decade and one which fans will have enjoyed celebrating throughout the weekend.
