Doncaster Rovers told they will "hate" FA Cup setting as big TV decision is made for tie
Plucky non-league Kettering have upped the ante ahead of their FA Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers.
Grant McCann's side will travel to the seventh tier outfit in the second round of the world's oldest cup competition. The modest s of surroundings of Latimer Park - with a capacity of less than 2,500 - is the setting for the tie with the part-timers looking at options on how to cram more people in to the fixture.
After springing a shock over neighbours and League One side Northampton in round one, the Poppies are hoping to bloody another EFL nose in three weeks' time. And it's a game that will be played out in front of a national audience with BBC2 screening the tie on Sunday, December 1 (midday kick-off).
"I don't mind a home draw, I know how hostile Latimer Park can be, and Doncaster will hate going there and playing on," said their manager Richard Lavery.
"The changing rooms are tight, the pitch isn't great, they are a footballing team, and it is probably their worst nightmare going away to Kettering Town at this minute. This competition is made for non-league teams. Playing away is different. Look, we won at Northampton on Saturday, but can you do that two or three times?
"Let's be honest, if we played them 100 times we would probably get beat in 99 of them. But on the day against Doncaster I fancy us, and I would fancy us against anybody at home."
