Competitions across Europe are currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an attempt to deliver clarity on how leagues and cups will be resolved, Europe’s football governing body UEFA along with the European Club Association, the European Leagues and players’ union FIFPRO Europe met and signed a joint resolution regarding the current season.

The headline pledge as far as Doncaster Rovers are concerned is that it is hoped the season will be completed by June 30 at the latest.

A statement issued by UEFA read: “The resolution features a commitment to complete all domestic and European club competitions by the end of the current sporting season, i.e. 30 June 2020 at the latest, should the situation improve and resuming playing be appropriate and prudent enough.”

A working group comprised of representatives of UEFA, leagues and clubs will be created to work on solutions to the issues to be faced in the coming months.

UEFA have suggested that rules over the scheduling of matches in different competitions could be relaxed, allowing for Champions League matches to be played at weekends.
