Grant McCann's side welcome Exeter City to the Eco-Power Stadium on August 2 in the curtain-raiser. It's been a profitable summer so far, with Rovers getting eight new signings through the door relatively quickly.
Here, we look at the strongest Rovers XI that is currently available to McCann ahead of the Grecians' visit to DN4:
9. CAM - Damola Ajayi
It's early days but the Spurs loanee has already got Rovers fans buzzing thanks to some stellar performances and eye-catching strikes. Playing him in the 'number ten' position would certainly be an exciting prospect as Rovers look to make people take notice this coming season. Photo: Howard Roe/ahpix.com
10. LM - Jordan Gibson
A tough one between Gibson and Glenn Middleton, both of whom have gone through the gears in pre-season. But we just give Gibson the edge in this particular battle. Photo: Howard Roe/ahpix.com
11. CF - Brandon Hanlan
The new arrival has chipped in nicely with his fair share of goals pre-season and looks a good bet to keep the shirt against Gary Caldwell's side for the opener. He'll know that he has a fierce fight on his hands though, with Billy Sharp and Joe Ironside lurking. Photo: Howard Roe/ahpix.com
