Doncaster Rovers stepping up recruitment drive
Doncaster Rovers are poised to step up their summer recruitment drive with a raft of signings set to be completed in the next few days.
Rovers yesterday confirmed the signing of left back Reece James from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.
They are also due to confirm the arrival of highly-rated young winger Glenn Middleton on loan from Rangers for the full season.
And a midfielder is also poised to sign after agreeing his release from his current club,
By the end of the week four new players in total could have arrived at the club with boss Grant McCann focusing on specific targets after spending much of his time since his return from holiday meeting with players.
Beyond James and Middleton, at least two deals have reached advanced stages with terms agreed and the final paperwork being processed.
The club hope to be in a position to make announcements this week.
McCann – who has emerged as the bookies’ favourite for the Hull City managerial vacancy – is looking to put together a squad of 18 senior players.
And he could take a significant step towards that target over the next few days.
