Doncaster Rovers set to confirm Fejiri Okenabirhie signing from Shrewsbury Town

Formalities on the transfer are due to be completed on Thursday morning ahead of official confirmation later in the day.
The Free Press understands Rovers submitted the successful bid following Tuesday night’s win over Southend United with Okenabirhie given permission to open talks on Wednesday morning.

Hide AdThe forward has found himself on the fringes at Shrewsbury this season, despite finishing last term as the club’s top scorer.
The 23-year-old was set to see his contract at the New Meadow expire in the summer with the Shrews keen to cash in now rather than losing him for free at the end of his deal.
Reports in Shropshire suggest the agreed fee is £75,000 but it is likely to be undisclosed when the transfer is confirmed.
Rovers were reported to have made an enquiry on the availability of Okenabirhie earlier this month but boss Darren Moore was quick to deny interest.

Hide AdIt is understood however that there have been discussions ongoing between the two clubs over the last few weeks with the successful conclusion only reached earlier this week.
Talent identification manager Adam Henshall - who left Shrewsbury to join Rovers late last year - is thought to have played a considerable role in the pursuit.
Okenabirhie will become Rovers’ second January signing, following fellow forward Devante Cole, who joined on Monday.
