Got well forward for Rovers after taking up a position high up the pitch when Rovers were in possession. He defended well, with support, as the pressure was put on after the break. Had a good chance to seal it in stoppage time. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD

Dropped into the sitting role. Looked good when carrying the ball forward and passing in the opposition half. Still needs work on his positional sense when operating much deeper, particularly in how he links up with the centre halves and works in conjunction with the other sitting midfielder. If there was a player to take up the ‘Whiteman role’ it was James who was the player to receive the ball out from the back more often than not. He played some fine passes to get Rovers on the front foot and his ball through for Okenabirhie’s goal was sublime. Unnecessary booking sees him banned for the next game. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD

Took his goals very well, particularly the first when he sprung clear and finished with real confidence and composure. He was a lively presence for Rovers throughout, carrying the ball really well and linking up with John-Jules. He also worked incredibly hard to close down the opposition and track back too.
