A quiet first half was followed by a truly impactful second half when he spent the time camped on the edge of the Hull box, attempting to work opportunities and linking up superbly with others. Photo: AHPIX Ltd

Looked well off the pace and a mile away from his usual self in the first half but was another who improved greatly after the break. There were few pacy runs but more opportunity to show his cleverness on the ball to keep Hull pinned in. Photo: AHPIX Ltd

So important in a game where the opposition sat deep in the second half. He was the focal point, the target for balls through the middle and he held it up superbly, laying passes off to others. It was great for him to get off the mark with a well-struck penalty. Photo: AHPIX Ltd

The midfielder sat deep after his half time introduction and dictated play superbly, showcasing his excellent passing ability and calm and composure on the ball. He set the tone for the control Rovers showed in the second half. And he deserves at least half a mark for letting Coppinger take the free kick. Photo: AHPIX Ltd
