Rovers had the better of a goalless first half but a brace by Dons substitute Nathan Young-Coombes appeared to have condemned Gary McSheffrey’s men to their first league defeat of the season.
However, Tommy Rowe’s powerful shot halved the deficit in the 86th minute before Williams made it 2-2 right at the death – sparking wild celebrations among the Rovers players, staff and travelling fans.
Here’s how we rated the Rovers players...
5. James Maxwell 6
Kept things simple and did his best to get into some advanced areas. Photo: HOWARD ROE
6. Adam Clayton 8
Ran a disciplinary tightrope after a very early booking but produced another influential, wholehearted display in the engine room. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
7. Harrison Biggins 7
His best display yet in Rovers shirt as he linked up nicely at times with his fellow midfielders and attackers. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
8. Kyle Hurst 6
Another good shift from the youngster, just lacked a final product. Held onto the ball well at times. Photo: Andrew Roe/AHPIX LTD
