The Railwaymen started the game brighter and took the lead when striker Courtney Baker-Richardson found the top corner of the net with a close-range header.
George Miller missed a golden opportunity to bring the visitors level before half time when his penalty was saved by Arthur Okonkwo in the Crewe goal.
But Doncaster's top-scorer atoned after the interval when he scored his ninth goal of the season to earn his side a point.

Some shaky distribution at times and let Dan Agyei get the better of him in the first half but otherwise OK. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
6. Tom Anderson - 7
Stopped Crewe doubling their lead with a well-timed block in the first half. Generally solid and probably the pick of the three centre-backs. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD

Shot for goal when a pass into the path of George Miller would have been the better option. Looked threatening going forward throughout in an improved performance overall. Photo: HOWARD ROE, Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
