Goals from James Maxwell - his first for the club - and Kyle Hurst capped off a dominant display and ensured Danny Schofield's side began 2023 with a bang.
Rovers took just four minutes to open the scoring and enjoyed almost total control in the first half.
Hurst went close to doubling their lead prior to scoring his fifth goal of the season and first since September before Kristian Dennis pulled one back for Carlisle.
Here’s our player ratings.
9. Harrison Biggins - 8
A really strong display in the middle of the park. Looks to be building a good partnership with Close. Made goal number two with a great run and pass into Miller's path. Photo: HOWARD ROE, Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
10. Luke Molyneux - 7
Looked a real threat, especially in the second half. Came close to that elusive first goal on a couple of occasions. Photo: HOWARD ROE, Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
11. Kyle Hurst - 8
Made some great driving runs - the sort we haven't seen in a little while - and bounced back well to score after missing a great chance to make it 2-0. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
12. George Miller - 8
Showed good movement in the early stages and made both goals, even if the second assist was an attempted shot. Photo: Howard Roe/AHPIX LTD
