By the time he reached the touchline, he had been joined by the rest of the Rovers side who embraced coaching staff in a big celebratory huddle.

It was a show of unity, togetherness and, as it turned out, mainly influenced by the manner of Taylor’s goal.

"The game plan was to try to get Tayls in behind them, which he was doing and then to see him score a good goal was great because we worked on that in training,” boss Darren Moore said.

“That’s why you saw the bit of the huddle that you did.

"When you work on the game plan and see it come off, you're happy with it.”

Moore also believes the huddle was an indication of the tremendous spirit within in his squad, particularly as they look to overcome their current disappointing run of results.

“I keep telling everyone that they're a great group to work with," Moore said.

“You saw a little window of that togetherness from them all.

“That is not just on that one occasion, that’s every day and they've had it from day one.

“They’ll always have that spirit and togetherness because they value each other and they respect each other.

“We're all disappointed that we didn’t get the three points but we have to reset ourselves again because we've got a busy Christmas programme.”
