"They caught something early on in the week. Hopefully that will be out of their system and they will be available for selection.”
Schofield admitted he was contemplating making changes to his starting XI after another defeat, having made three last time out against Walsall.
He said: “We are always thinking about personnel, utilising the squad to its full capacity and always seeing which players are training the best.

Newport are now managed by Graham Coughlan, who took over in October, and have won their last two games to move away from relegation danger.
Schofield insisted his side will go to Rodney Parade to win despite their current adversity.

"We are playing with attacking players, it’s down to me or them to execute those attacking moments, which I believe we’ve worked on earlier this week.
