Doncaster Rovers' finances 'doing extremely well' + details on training changes due to cold snap
Doncaster Rovers' finances are "doing extremely well" according to chief executive Gavin Baldwin.
The update was revealed following the release of the latest minutes of Rovers' Shadow Board most recent meeting. The Shadow Board, set up in 2022, is comprised of Rovers supporters and is in place to help shape club decision-making and policy regarding off-field matters.
In its latest minutes, regarding a meeting that took place in late November, it notes that Baldwin "explained that the Club financials are doing extremely well but the staff and senior management team had been challenged to improve the financial status of Club Doncaster.
"This has been done by setting up BET “Break Even Team” where ideas for revenue generation are marked using a traffic light system on whether they can be achieved outside of the budget."

Speaking to the Free Press last summer, Baldwin was quizzed on a number of topics including how reliant Rovers are on the financial backing of chairman Terry Bramall. He responded: "If Terry wasn't funding us then we'd have a playing squad and would be able to pay bills but it would be back to the times where it's tough on the field.
"If you look at clubs going out of business, and I'll not name them, even without Terry we'd not be in that position. And that's because of the discipline we learned during the tough times. But what we wouldn't have is everyone looking forward to every Saturday - it'd be tough."

Meanwhile, Rovers insist they are doing everything to ensure Saturday's FA Cup third round tie with Southampton goes ahead. Last Sunday's home game with Luton Town was postponed on the morning of the fixture owing to areas of the Eco-Power Stadium pitch being frozen.
Ground sheets have been in place since then and efforts are continuing to try and make sure the match goes ahead, albeit with an uncertain few days of cold weather ahead.
Players and management have been adapting to the cold snap, with the pitches at Cantley Park unsuitable for training at present.
After being given Monday and Tuesday off, the squad returned on Wednesday to the plush new gym facilities. But when it comes to going out on the grass, the work has been done down at the 3G pitches next to the stadium. The facilities contain two full-size pitches.
After the Southampton tie, Rovers are scheduled to be at home next Tuesday when Fleetwood Town visit in the EFL Trophy.
