The 20-year-old returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers for treatment after suffering an ankle injury in training in late September.

But he will report back to Cantley Park on Thursday morning to join in training for the first time since his injury.

“Cameron is back now and he'll be in training with us now," boss Darren Moore said.

“We’ll probably give him a game with the U23s next week and then he’ll be ready to go.”

John was at the Keepmoat on Tuesday night to watch Rovers’ FA Cup replay with AFC Wimbledon.

Rovers expect to hear the latest injury report on John’s fellow Wolves loanee Niall Ennis by the end of the week.

The striker suffered a muscle strain earlier this month.
