Doncaster Rovers braced for two signings as Blackburn Rovers make Connor O'Riordan decision

Doncaster Rovers are set to unveil at least two new signings before their next game, against Luton Town on Sunday.

Manager Grant McCann has confirmed two permanent additions are heading into the club imminently. One is set to be loaned back out whilst the other could come into contention for the meeting with Jack Wilshere's side in what could be a quickfire debut.

Speaking post-match after Thursday's 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers, McCann said: "We're there on two (signings).

"One player, like I've said before, will be more of a development player and we'll add him to the sort of Sam Straughan-Brown, Will Flint, Bobby Faulkner, Kasper Williams - that type of group that will have a big future at this football club. And then there's another one that's already signed who will come into the squad on Sunday."

When quizzed further by the Free Press, McCann said: "Although I've spoken about the two that have signed, we're very close on a couple (others) as well. I'm hoping over the next two or three days we'll have a bit more indication on that."

Meanwhile, Connor O'Riordan has now returned to his parent club Blackburn Rovers after they requested for him to go back earlier than planned. McCann revealed the news of a January recall last month but having failed to make the last few matchday squads, the centre-half has now officially ended his stay in South Yorkshire.

"Connor has gone back to Blackburn," McCann added. "He went on Tuesday. They asked to take him back earlier and we were fine with that. They want to try and adjust him to get into their team.

"Toyosi (Olusanya) is still here. T's actually been really good the last week or so. He's come back from his injury. I spoke to him today. I said 'look, I thought about involving you today', but I just thought it was important I keep my players - the ones that are going to be here - to be on the bench and try and impact the game today.

"But like I said to you before, he's been really unfortunate. I think what you'll see in the second half of the season is he'll probably go somewhere and score 15 goals for somebody. But his time here has just been unfortunate."
