Doncaster Rovers boss admits to Joe Wright 'risk' and gives an update on Liam Ravenhill

The centre half had been ruled out for a few weeks with a calf injury which kept him out of Rovers' trip to Swindon Town over the weekend.

Hide AdSo his inclusion on Tuesday night was surprising - particularly so when he came off the bench for the final few minutes to help Rovers see out the 1-0 win.
Moore said he would not normally take risks with players' longer term fitness but felt it necessary to take a chance with Wright due to finding his squad heavily depleted due to other injuries and suspensions.
"It was a bit of a risk to be honest," he said.
"But it was because we needed the bodies.
"We took the risk and we've got away with it.
"Hopefully there will be no adverse reactions from his little cameo role.

Hide Ad"We did take a bit of a risk. It's a line that we had to cross but hopefully we don't have to do it again.
"It's a new thing for me as a manager in these times when the games are coming thick and fast.
"Hopefully I won't have to cross it again.
"We're pleased to get through it and hopefully we can just recover and focus on Saturday."

Hide AdMoore also revealed that young midfielder Liam Ravenhill picked up an injury ahead of the trip to Swindon.
And he said physio Jonathan Chatfield is working tirelessly to get players back on the training ground as soon as possible.
"Liam was in the squad on Friday and picked up a little hip flexor injury," Moore said.
"That was another one that went down that was unexpected.
"He's on the treatment table now, starting his recovery.

Hide Ad"The treatment table is getting pretty full now and Chats is working around the clock to try to get them back onto the pitch."
James Coppinger remains sidelined with a calf injury while Madger Gomes is back in training following his long term hamstring injury but is understood to be a few weeks away from being cleared to return to action.
