The club will be holding trials when it is safe to do so and are inviting players of all ages to register their interest.

Belles’ first team boss Andy Butler wants to build a big squad in an attempt to challenge for promotion from FAWNL Division One Midlands.

Club officials are also keen to bolster their ranks underneath the senior team and their Regional Talent Club (RTC), which is for elite players in the U10s, U12s, U14s and U16s age groups, is also on the lookout for new recruits.

“I hope we’re challenging as high up the table as we possibly can next season but that will be down to every single player pulling in the same direction,” Butler told Belles’ official website.

“We need a big squad to really push up the table and we’re always looking for new players to improve the squad and those with the ability and who enjoy football can come down.

“We’re a positive bunch of people, we love to play high-tempo, possession-based football and we want players who fit into that ethos.

“Our door is always open – we never close the door on anybody and if they’re good enough then they’ll play.

“Everyone gets an equal chance – it’s a clean slate, it’s a new season. Nobody’s guaranteed a starting position so if they come in and do better than the players that are already there then they’ll get their shot.”

Doncaster-born Butler took the reins in January and oversaw an improvement in form before the FAWNL season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He added: “The RTC is huge for the development into the first team football and we’re not scared of playing youngsters if they’re good enough to be in there.

“We’ve got some good U16s that are coming through now and they’ll be pushing for first team spots. If they’re good enough, they’ll get their chance with the first team.

“Me and Bucco (Nick Buxton) will be going down to watch games if we can - we’re going to put a big drive into this season and give it everything we’ve got.”
