The team, based at Balby Carr Academy, took top spot in the West Yorkshire SFA League.

They remained undefeated all season while beating district teams from Calderdale, York, Sheffield, Harrogate, East Riding, Leeds, Barnsley, Wakefield, Nottingham and Spen Valley.

The youngsters followed up that success with a 4-2 win in the cup final against Calderdale 4-2 at Athersley Recreation.

Darren Senior, U13s manager, said: ‘I couldn’t be prouder of the boys this season.

“To win the league title, having won every single game, followed up by a cup final victory against a strong Calderdale team is a fantastic achievement. And all in their first season playing together.

“I have been managing football teams for a long time and believe me when I say that this group are a very talented bunch of lads who will only go from strength to strength in the seasons to come.

“The whole of Doncaster should be equally proud as me of their success and excited to see where they go from here.”

There are four teams, from under 11s to under 14s, now in existence.
