Darren Moore has urged goalkeeper Seny Dieng to ‘keep doing what he is doing’ after gifting a goal to Bolton Wanderers in Doncaster Rovers’ win on Tuesday night.

Dieng attempted a Cruyff turn after receiving a pass back but was tackled by Bolton’s Joe Dodoo who slotted into an empty net.

Though the goal did result in a nervy period for Rovers, they held on to the lead to see out the win.

Dieng has had a few close shaves already this season through the confidence he displays with the ball at his feet.

And while he was caught out on this occasion, boss Moore has no intention of curbing the Queens Park Rangers loanee’s style any time soon - such is his importance to the team.

All he does want to see is Dieng learning from his error.

“Just learn from it,” Moore said. “We can’t cry over spilt milk.

“The boy has been absolutely tremendous.

“I hear massive roars and cheers when he comes and collects those crosses.

“And I can show people umpteen clips of where we have scored goals starting from him playing out from the back.

“One error, in a game we’ve won, he’ll learn from it and get stronger from it.

“The boy is 24 years of age. He’s a tremendous keeper who will play at the highest level.

“We’re absolutely honoured to have him at this football club, developing the next part of his career.

“He’s given us a level. He’s been different class and he’ll continue to learn from it.

“I won’t cry over spilt milk. It’s all part of learning and he’ll learn from that going forward.

“We move on, we get behind him and we come together to encourage him to keep doing what he’s doing.

“That message is clear.”

Moore insists he has no fears of the incident denting Dieng’s confidence.

“No chance,” he said. “I won’t allow it.

“He’s a good goalkeeper. We learn from it and move on from there.

“If he learns from it for the rest of his career, happy days.
