Darren Moore admits it is looking less likely that last season’s loan players will return to Doncaster Rovers for the coming campaign.

Moore has previously ruled out a return for Seny Dieng, who is expected to fight for the number one shirt at Queens Park Rangers.

The Free Press understands Rovers remain in contact with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa over potential returns for Cameron John, Niall Ennis and Jacob Ramsey.

But, given the progress made by each of the trio while at Rovers last season, the parent clubs are keen to explore the possibility of loan moves to Championship clubs for their players.

On potential returns for loanees, Moore said: “It’s dependent because those individuals felt they had an excellent season here with Doncaster.

“The club last season gave them a platform to either play at the level they’re at or certainly take another opportunity.

“I wouldn’t stand in any players’ way if they were looking to move on to a different level.

“Rovers have ticked a box in their professional development as a player.

“And it’s also formed a connection with their clubs for any other players to come here for first team football, build their mentality, build them as a player and a person.

“We’ve done that with all the players that came here last season. When they left they did with good figures on their time here.”

Rovers secured a return for one of last season’s loan crop in Jason Lokilo, who signed permanently last week.
