Darren Moore on Kieran Sadlier’s future as new deal remains on table at Doncaster Rovers
Darren Moore is still hopeful that Kieran Sadlier will sign a new contract with Doncaster Rovers - and believes another season at the Keepmoat would be beneficial for the forward.
Sadlier will reach the end of his current deal on June 30 but has so far not put pen to paper on fresh terms which were offered to him mid way through the season.
Moore - who will learn the details of his potential playing budget for the 2020/21 campaign in the coming days - says the offer remains on the table for the 25-year-old.
“It’s still the same,” he told the Free Press.

“I’m still very much hopeful that Sads and his advisers will come back.
“I’ve made it quite clear that I see him here.
“I want Sads to stay. I see him being really part of us.
“I think there’s more to come from him.
“I’m still very optimistic that there is still a conversation to be had and we’ll go from there really.
“It’s something when I sit down with the chairman and Gavin, these are things what we’ll be able to have a look more closely.”
Last season was Sadlier’s first full campaign in League One, having spent three years in the League of Ireland.
He topped the scoring charts for Rovers with 12 goals in 40 appearances - and Moore is confident he would have threatened the 20 goal mark had the season not been curtailed.
Moore believes Sadlier would benefit from another season in League One with Rovers, which would help him continue his development.
“I still think he needs another season to really go again,” Moore said.
“We’ve seen the first full season from him, where he’s had a full pre-season, we’ve got him fit, I’ve played him in an attacking system, in different roles.
“Every time I’ve played him in roles he’s performed very well.
“I’m hoping his advisers will see this is the right place for him to be.
“And certainly the boy feels that he’s done really well.
“He’s scored 12 goals and I really feel that had we seen out the season, he could well have been on for 20 goals.
“He probably feels that himself.”
