Donervon Daniels has been recalled by parent club Luton Town, bringing to an end his loan at Doncaster Rovers.

The versatile defender is set to be involved in the Hatters' FA Cup tie at Premier League side Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Should he feature, it will be his Luton debut having signed for Graeme Jones' side on transfer deadline day only to be immediately loaned to Rovers to build his fitness.

Darren Moore targeted Daniels as cover for Alex Baptiste following the defender's Achilles injury.

The 26-year-old went on to make 13 appearances for Rovers after injuries to Joe Wright and Cameron John.

Daniels conceded three penalties in four starts for Rovers, blighting what had been a solid spell at the club.

His loan was due to expire later this month with Moore pondering whether to ask for an extension.

But Luton boss Jones had suggested he would be looking to hold onto Daniels for the rest of the season.

Earlier this week he said: "I've been delighted with his experience at Doncaster, because Donervon came here with great potential, great pedigree, a little bit overweight, as he hadn't played a lot.

"He had a difficult year personally with bereavement and I wanted him to get out on loan.

"He's lost weight, played more regularly, so it's something I’m definitely assessing whether to bring him back him back or not.”
