Breaking: Barnsley suspend assistant head coach Tommy Wright after 'bung' allegations
Barnsley have suspended assistant head coach Tommy Wright following allegations that he accepted a £5,000 cash bung from a fake Far Eastern firm.
Wright was this evening named by the Daily Telegraph - along with Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino - as part of their investigation into corruption in football.
Wright ended his career at Doncaster Rovers in 2000 and also had a spell at Chesterfield as assistant manager and caretaker manager.
