BREAKING: Alfie May leaves Doncaster Rovers to join Cheltenham Town

Alfie May’s departure from Doncaster Rovers has been confirmed with the striker joining Cheltenham Town on a permanent deal.

It is understood May has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Whaddon Road, ending his three-year stint at Rovers who accepted a nominal fee for the forward.

His contract with Rovers had been due to expire in the summer.

The 26-year-old joined Rovers for eighth tier side Hythe Town in January 2017, going on to score 23 goals in 118 appearances in all competitions.

He found his opportunities for regular first team football limited this season following the arrival of Darren Moore as manager, making only seven starts in the league.

May is in line to make his debut for Michael Duff’s side against Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
