Doncaster Rovers: Marquis remains committed to club despite interest

John Marquis insists his commitment will never waiver as long as he remains a Doncaster Rovers player.

The striker was the subject of three bids last week, with Peterborough United, Aberdeen and an unnamed Championship club lodging interest.

Those bids were rejected outright by Rovers, who insists the striker is not for sale.

And Marquis says as long as that remains the case he will be committed to the cause.

"All the time that I've ever put on the Doncaster shirt I've given 100 per cent and that is exactly what I'm going to do," he told the Free Press.

"There's been an interest.

"A League One move would probably be a sideways move for me, in terms of what I believe.

"All I can do is every time I put on a Doncaster shirt is give everything and I know I will do that.

"I'm here and I've really enjoyed my time at Doncaster for the last two years."
