Bowls: Epworth Bowls Gala success

Cemex Bowls Club claimed the first prize at Epworth’s annual Bowls Gala after overcoming Spades B in the final last weekend.

Organiser Alan Bull declared the event a success, apart from the gloomy weather.

A total of 28 teams took part in two leagues of 14, with the two group winners contesting the final.

“Even in the bad weather conditions there was some very good bowling from all the teams,” said Bull.

“Despite all the rain we had to endure all of the 28 teams went home happy.”

The winner of the annual Bowls gala won a cash prize of £150.

The runners up took home £75.
