Woman injured in home-time collision with car near Doncaster primary school
A pensioner was injured this afternoon in a ‘school run’ collision involving a car near a Doncaster primary school.
The woman pedestrian is understood to have been hurt and taken to hospital after a collision on West End Lane, Rossington, crossing the road with her great granddaughter on the way home from St Joseph’s Primary School.
South Yorkshire Police issued a statement this evening about the incident.
It said: “At 3.45pm today (14 September) emergency services attended a collision in New Rossington, Doncaster.
“It’s reported that a car had reversed in Gattison Lane and collided with two pedestrians – a woman and a girl.
“It’s not believed anyone was seriously injured the incident.”
It is understood she had pushed the child out of the way of the car, and one resident said school run parking was an issue in the area.
She was understood to have suffered injuries to her ankle and her arm.
